I did it!:)

Yay! I figured out how to post my slideshow as a page and not a post. It really was as easy as pasting the code where I wanted it to go. I finally figured out I could go into Manage Posts (in wordpress.com), I then went to the post it was saved under and hit edit. The code I needed had been pasted there. So I copied it and then went into Write Page and posted it under My Art page and titled it Slide-Show = Art and hit Publish. I noticed it made things run slower but I got it in there.

Art Project Complete

I know putting together a slide-show is so easy for some but this really did take me a long time. Picking the photos, uploading them and then arranging them takes creativity and time. I had fun being able to try out different themes and backgrounds. It was amazing to see how even the music choice changed the feel of the show.

The only part I had the hardest time with was uploading it to my wordpress.com account. I thought it would be as easy as posting the code where you want it to go, much like MySpace. It might be that easy but I didn’t figure out how to do it. http://slide.com uploaded the slide-show for me which is why it ended up as a post. Overall this was my favorite project simply because it is something I really enjoy doing.

Art

I had a hard time getting started simply because I could not think of a good “art technology” project. I love to write poetry and short stories, I also love taking pictures. I decided I would put together a slideshow using Photobucket and add some poetry to it. Photobucket is a program you can use to upload pictures onto and create slideshows or generate codes to post on blogs or MySpace. I often use Photobucket to get codes for my MySpace to share pictures of my family with my friends.

Google Docs ~ Good Way to Go:)

I used Google Docs spreadsheet to generate my budget. I did find it useful and easy to use. I plan on using it in the future to keep track of my budget and spending.

Financial Analysis

My dream may seem small to some, but this is one of my big dreams. I have a 1969 Volkswagen Squareback that I dream to someday get back in running order. I have had my VW since I was 16 and drove it up until I was 24 and had my daughter. Since then it has sat. I know that it has a main oil seal leak but I am guessing after sitting for for years it will need a whole new engine. So I am going to plan a way to find the finances in my already tight budget, to put the money into the car to get it back on the road.

Some other “big” dreams at this point in my life are

• To graduate in June.
• Get a job….health insurance for my family:)
• To buy a house.
• Go on a yoga retreat somewhere in South America.
• To move to Peru.
• Nothing to do with finances…..my “biggest dream” is for security and peace in my life:)

Uploading music to MP3 player using Windows Media and Limewire

I recently discovered a web site that allows you to share music across the web. I will build a lesson on how to download music to Limewire, from there to Windows Media and eventually to an MP3 player. I use this technology a lot; it allows me to create and recreate playlists that include all my favorite songs and artists.

Rose Totino

I am very excited to have chosen Rose Totino as  female inventor. Rose Totino is one of seven children born to Italian immigrants. Her name may sound familiar thanks to Totino’s pizza ~ she invented frozen pizza crust. I can’t wait to learn more about her life and background.

Rose Totino turned a small restaurant, called Totino’s Italian Kitchen in northeast Minneapolis into a million dollar business. Rose used her flexibility, thoughtfulness, and creativity to bring people frozen pizza crust I think it important because it brings about a convenience that I know and understand as a mother who doesnot walk in the door until 6 at night when her daughter is already demanding her dinner. Rose Totino was also Pillsbury’s first ever female vice preident. It will be interesting to hear Totino’s story of not only her invention but also about her way up the corporate ladder.

My art project is again no idea yet. I finally got all these categories set up and I am starting to feel like technology is taking up too much of my life:)

Teach

I will teach how to use….I have no idea. I have a hard enough time with the technology I do have so I will have to research and find something that would interest me.
